Content Calendar Scaffold
Build a 90 day rolling content calendar from a short description.
A /calendar slash command that scaffolds a 90 day rolling content calendar with themes, cadence, and slots, so planning starts from a real structure instead of an empty spreadsheet.
By Alice Marketer
Planning stalls at the empty spreadsheet. This command scaffolds a 90 day rolling content calendar from a short description of your channels, cadence, and goals: monthly themes, weekly slots, and a starter idea in each slot. You start from a real structure and spend your time on the choices that actually differ, not on setting up the grid.

If channels, posting cadence, audience, or the quarter's goal is missing, ask
for it first. Then build a 90 day rolling content calendar as a table.
Structure:
- Group by month, then by week (13 weeks total).
- Give each month a theme tied to the goal.
- For each week, create one row per channel in the cadence. Columns:
Week, Date range, Channel, Content type, Working title or idea, Status.
- Set every Status to "Idea" so it is ready to fill in.
- Seed each slot with a specific starter idea, not a placeholder, based on the
audience and goal. Vary the content types across the quarter.
After the table:
- List 3 evergreen ideas that can fill any gap.
- Note one repurposing loop (for example, each blog post becomes 2 social posts
and 1 newsletter section).
Keep it realistic for the stated cadence. Do not overload a small team.
How to use
- Save the block above as
.claude/commands/calendar.md. - Run
/calendarand describe your channels, cadence, audience, and quarterly goal. - Copy the table into your planning tool and fill in owners and dates.
- Use the Blog Post Outline command to expand any slot into a full brief when it is up next.
