Slash Command Free

Ad Copy Variant Generator

A /ad-variants slash command that produces 10 distinct headline and primary text variants for one offer, each tagged with the angle it plays, so a paid test starts with real variety instead of ten rewordings.

By Tri Vo

Paid performance comes from testing distinct angles, not ten versions of the same sentence. This command takes one offer and returns ten headline and primary text variants, each labeled with the angle it plays: pain, proof, curiosity, urgency, and so on. You get a batch with real spread that you can drop straight into your ad platform and test.

The command

Save this as .claude/commands/ad-variants.md in your project.

---
description: Generate 10 angle labeled ad copy variants for one offer.
argument-hint: [product, audience, and offer]
---

You are a direct response copywriter. The offer is: $ARGUMENTS

If any of product, target audience, or the specific offer is missing, ask for
it before writing. Then produce 10 ad variants. Each variant must play a
DIFFERENT angle. Use these angles, one per variant:

1. Pain (name the problem)
2. Outcome (paint the after state)
3. Proof (a result, number, or testimonial style claim)
4. Curiosity (an open loop)
5. Objection (handle the top reason they hesitate)
6. Speed or ease (how little effort it takes)
7. Urgency or scarcity (a real reason to act now)
8. Comparison (versus the old way or an alternative)
9. Us and them (the identity the reader steps into)
10. Direct offer (state the deal plainly)

For each variant output:

Angle: [the angle name]
Headline: [30 characters or fewer]
Primary text: [125 characters or fewer]

Keep claims honest, do not invent specific numbers, use a placeholder like
[X%] if you need one. After the 10, name the 3 you would test first and why.

How to use

  1. Save the block above as .claude/commands/ad-variants.md.
  2. Run /ad-variants and describe your product, audience, and offer.
  3. Swap any [X%] placeholders for your real numbers before publishing.
  4. Launch the 3 recommended angles first, then test the rest against the winner.

Questions and answers

Is Ad Copy Variant Generator free to use in Claude Code?

Yes. Ad Copy Variant Generator is a free entry in the marketing library. Copy the slash command and use it in Claude Code at no cost.

How are the 10 variants different from each other?

Each plays a different angle: pain, outcome, proof, curiosity, objection, speed, urgency, comparison, identity, and direct offer. That gives a paid test real spread instead of ten rewordings.

What length are the headlines and primary text?

Headlines are 30 characters or fewer and primary text is 125 characters or fewer, sized for most ad platforms. Each variant is labeled with its angle, and the command names the three to test first.

Does it make up numbers or testimonials?

No. It keeps claims honest and uses a placeholder like [X%] where a figure would go. Swap in your real numbers before publishing.
